Consultant Solicitor – Sarah King

Employment Law Background and Experience

Sarah gained her degree in Law with Accounting Studies at Staffordshire University where she also studied for the Legal Practice Course, passing with distinction.  Whilst taking her Masters part-time, she also undertook her training contract with a Legal 500 firm.

Sarah qualified as a Solicitor in 2003 and worked on a mixture of employment and civil litigation cases before joining a niche employment firm in 2005. By 2007 she was a partner. Sarah is also a part-time Employment Judge in the Employment Tribunal.

Sarah joined Astons in 2013 and acts for both employer and employee clients on all aspects of employment law.  She has gained significant experience in providing advice on complex settlement agreements at director level, as well as reorganisations and TUPE transfers.  Sarah also has experience of employment related County Court cases and has taken part in several mediations.

She has experience of conducting her own advocacy in employment tribunal, and delivers employment law training to managers in-house as well as at public seminars.

The personal touch

Outside of work, Sarah likes to spend time with her young family and socialising with friends. She’s a huge fan of Thai and Italian cooking (though not necessarily together…), plus reading, watching films and travelling.
